Operating environment

IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration requires a supported operating environment for deployment.

The following describes the supported operating environment for IBM Cloud Pak for Integration release 2021.4:

Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform versions 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, and 4.10. Note: IBM Cloud Pak for Integration is not supported on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform version 4.9.
IBM Cloud Pak foundational services version 3.8.0 and later, up to and including 3.19
IBM Automation Foundation version 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3
Linux 64-bit systems:
- amd64 (also known as x86_64)
- s390x (IBM Z)
- ppc64le (IBM Power)
Linux on IBM Z (supported operators are Platform Navigator, App Connect, Event Streams, Aspera HSTS, and MQ)
Linux on IBM Power (supported operators are Platform Navigator, App Connect, and Event Streams)
Multi-zone and single-zone deployments, where appropriate storage providers are available to support that deployment model

Included environments

Cloud Pak for Integration runs on any OpenShift environment. This includes but is not limited to:

A cluster deployed manually using Installer Provisioned Infrastructure or User Provisioned Infrastructure.
- For installations on AWS, see Supported options on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for specific environment details including storage.
- For installations on Azure, see Supported options on Microsoft Azure for specific environment details including storage.
- For other installations, including on-premise, see Storage considerations for storage requirements.
A managed cluster from a cloud provider, including:
- IBM Satellite. See Supported options on Microsoft Azure or Supported options on Amazon Web Services (AWS), depending on the cloud provider where the cluster nodes are running.
- Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud. See Supported options on IBM Cloud for specific environment details.
- Azure Red Hat OpenShift; see Supported options on Microsoft Azure for specific environment details.
- Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS; see Supported options on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for specific environment details. The level of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform provided must meet the minimum requirement for the version of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration you are installing.

IBM Cloud Pak for Integration is not available in other environments, such as Docker or open-source Kubernetes distributions.
