Accessibility features

The following major accessibility features are available in the IBM Cloud Pak Platform UI and Automation assets:

  • Keyboard-only operation

  • Operations that use a screen reader

Tip: This product documentation, and its related publications, are accessibility-enabled for the IBM Home Page Reader. You can operate all features by using the keyboard instead of the mouse.

Keyboard navigation

The Platform UI and Automation assets use standard Linux®, Microsoft Windows and MacOS navigation keys.

You can navigate through the Platform UI and Automation assets by using these generic keyboard shortcuts.

Table 1: Generic keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcut Result
Enter Triggers an action for in-focus interactive element
Space Triggers an action for in-focus interactive element
Tab Moves the focus to the next element
Shift + Tab Moves the focus to previous element
Left arrow key Moves the focus to the left, inside a group or menu
Right arrow key Moves the focus to the right, inside a group or menu
Up arrow key Moves the focus up, inside a group or menu
Down arrow key Moves the focus down, inside a group or menu
Esc Closes an open group or menu element

Custom keyboard shortcuts are required for some use cases in the Platform UI and Automation assets.

Ctrl + M (Windows & Linux) Escape the focus of the YAML viewer or editor
Ctrl + Shift + M (MacOS) Escape the focus of the YAML viewer or editor

Screen readers

If you are using a screen reader for either of the following tasks, use the suggested options to get all the accessibility features:

  • To build or review an assembly, click the YAML tab to use the YAML editor.

  • If you open a Designer Event-driven flow or Designer API Implementation asset type from the Automation Assets page, click the Code tab to review the contents.
