Using the Cloud Pak for Integration Agent

The IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration Agent is a feature of the Platform UI that enables a conversational interface. The Agent uses AI to help solve common problems and provide information on how to use Cloud Pak for Integration.

Accessing the Agent

Before you can access the Agent, you need to configure it by following the instructions in Configuring the Cloud Pak for Integration Agent.

Log in to the Platform UI with a user that has either the admin or viewer role. Click the AI button at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Use cases

The Agent can provide information on the current state of your Cloud Pak for Integration installation and alert you to potential issues.

Health checking

The Agent can provide a summary of your Cloud Pak for Integration installation. You can also query it to get information on currently installed versions (for Cloud Pak for Integration, OpenShift, and installed operators) and find out if updates are available.

Enter prompts in the conversational interface to get the following types of information:

  • The Platform UI version

  • The OpenShift version

  • Any installed operators that are not at the latest fix pack version

  • Any installed instances that are not at the latest fix pack version

  • The number of cores and memory that each instance is using

  • The total resource usage for a particular set of instances

  • The status of running instances, whether successful or not

Example prompts

  • "Perform an installation health check on my cluster."

  • "What are the current versions for my operators?"

  • "Are there any updates for my operators?

  • "Are there any updates for my instances?"

Troubleshooting

The Agent can highlight any potential issues with your Cloud Pak for Integration installation.

Enter prompts to get the following types of information:

  • Any instances that are not running correctly

  • The reason that an instance is failing

  • Any error or warning logs for an instance

  • The resource consumption for an instance

Example prompts

  • "Are my instances running correctly?"

  • "Are any instances not working correctly?"

  • "Why is my instance failing?"

  • "Are there any errors in this instance's logs?"

  • "How many resources is my instance using?"

The Agent can find information about Cloud Pak for Integration for you based on the Cloud Pak for Integration documentation.
