Upgrading

Upgrade IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration to version 16.1.0. An OpenShift cluster administrator must perform the upgrade. For more information, see OpenShift roles and permissions.

Before you begin

Upgrading to Cloud Pak for Integration 16.1.0 requires that your installation is already at version 2023.4 or 2022.2.

To upgrade from version 2023.4, follow the procedure in Upgrading from 2023.4.
To upgrade from version 2023.2, upgrade to 2023.4 first.
To upgrade from version 2022.4, upgrade to 2023.2 first, and to 2023.4.
To upgrade from version 2022.2, follow the procedure in Upgrading from 2022.2.
To upgrade from an earlier version of Cloud Pak for Integration, upgrade to 2022.2 first.

Using an upgrade plan

Before you do any upgrade steps, generate an upgrade plan. This detailed plan is customized for your installation and guides you through every aspect of upgrading Cloud Pak for Integration to a target version. The upgrade plan guides you through essential upgrade tasks, for example:

Applying the correct fix pack for the currently installed release
Upgrading the catalog sources and mirroring images for the 16.1.0 release
Upgrading the operators
