Upgrading an API Connect cluster on s390x

The API Connect cluster instance type in IBM Cloud Pak for Integration is provided by the IBM API Connect operator. When an API Connect cluster is deployed on s390x, the API Manager and API Portal subsystems are hosted on an s390x cluster, and the IBM Gateway and IBM Analytics subsystems are hosted on an amd64 cluster.

Before you begin

This task applies only to instances where the API Manager and API Portal subsystems were installed as part of the API Connect cluster instance on s390x. If you installed all subsystems on amd64, follow the instructions in Upgrading all API Connect cluster subsystems on amd64 instead.

1. Review the following topics in the API Connect documentation to ensure your environment meets the requirements for upgrading API Connect:

   • Two data center deployment:
     • Upgrading a 2DCDR deployment on Cloud Pak for Integration from V10.0.7 or later
     • Upgrading a 2DCDR deployment on Cloud Pak for Integration from V10.0.5
2. Complete the following tasks to upgrade the API Connect subsystems:
   1. Upgrading the API Connect cluster instance on IBM Z
   2. Upgrading the API Gateway subsystem on Linux x86_64
   3. Upgrading the API Analytics subsystem on Linux x86_64
