Get information on the following, which may be needed for managing your OpenShift cluster and installing IBM Cloud Pak® for Integration:
OpenShift roles and permissions
Roles that are assigned within Red Hat OpenShift define the various tasks that are required to install and configure IBM Cloud Pak for Integration. An OpenShift user is assigned permissions using OpenShift role-based access control.
Identity and access management
Use Keycloak for identity and access management in IBM Cloud Pak for Integration. The IBM Cloud Pak foundational services operator automatically installs Keycloak (at the correct version) when it is needed by an instance that is part of Cloud Pak for Integration. If you need to install the IBM Cloud Pak foundational services operator, see Installing the operators.
Configuring hostnames and certificates
IBM Cloud Pak for Integration instances automatically generate a set of hostnames and certificates that are used during the initial installation. You can replace these defaults with custom hostnames and certificates.
Backing up and restoring IBM Cloud Pak for Integration
You can backup and restore some parts of your Cloud Pak for Integration installation by using Red Hat OpenShift API for Data Protection (OADP). OADP is a tool, based on the Velero project, for backing up and restoring Kubernetes cluster resources and persistent volumes, which you might want to do as part of disaster recovery preparation.
Enabling and using logging
IBM Cloud Pak for Integration supports both OpenShift cluster logging and user-defined logging solutions. For information on system requirements, see Cluster logging requirements.
Enabling OpenShift Container Platform monitoring
Monitoring in IBM Cloud Pak for Integration can be done by using the OpenShift Container Platform monitoring stack.
Enabling IBM Instana monitoring
IBM Instana enables proactive monitoring of OpenShift cluster-based metrics and operators.
Configuring the Cloud Pak foundational services
Deploying License Service
License Service collects and measures the license usage of Cloud Pak for Integration at the cluster level.
Applying fix packs between major releases
Between major releases of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, apply the latest fix pack for 16.1.0 to the catalog sources, operators, and instances, in that order.
