What's new and changed in Watson Machine Learning

IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 5.2.0
A new version of Watson Machine Learning was released in June 2025.
This release includes the following changes:

This release of Watson Machine Learning includes the following features:
- Deploy your machine learning assets with new software specifications that are based on runtime 25.1
- You can now deploy machine learning assets by using the new software specifications that are
based on the latest 25.1 runtime.

- Deploy models that are trained with Spark 3.5
- You can now deploy machine learning models that were trained with Spark 3.5.

- Add the discontinued Spark 3.3 software specification back to the list of available software specifications.
- It is possible to add the discontinued Spark 3.3 software specification back to the list of
available software specifications.

- Updates
- The following updates were introduced in this release:
- Removal of duplicate fields from JSON responses to deployment-related API calls

Up to and including release 5.1, the API calls for creating and managing deployments returned duplicate fields in
entity
andmetadata
object fields. Starting with release 5.2, the following fields will not be included in the entity object field:name
space_id
project_id
tags
description
To avoid disruption, you must update your code that currently handles deployment-related API responses.
