IBM Data Replication Access Server connection
To create a replication asset supported by the remote CDC replication create an IBM Data Replication Access Server connection for it.
You can use the IBM Data Replication Access Server connection to conect to a remote CDC replication deployment to replicate data across remote servers heterogeneously. This connection works only with Data Replication service.
Create a connection to IBM Data Replication Access Server
Before creating a connection to Data Replication Access Server ensure that all prerquisites have been completed. See the Before you begin section in Setting up remote CDC replication in the IBM Software Hub documentation.
To create the connection asset, you need these connection details:
- The host name where Access Server is installed. The host must be reachable from Cloud Pak for Data
- The port for the Access Server
- Access Server Username (all datastores that the user has access to can be used in replication creation)
- Access Server Password
Data Replication will connect to Access Server host and port using supplied credentials and create, manage and monitor CDC subscriptions that replicate data between the source and the target datastores for the specific subscription.
Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliance
This connection can be used on a FIPS-enabled cluster (FIPS tolerant); however, it is not FIPS-compliant.
Restrictions
- All replications allocate a standard replication mappings for your tables.
- All columns are mapped by the remote data stores.
- Additional restrictions are imposed by the remote data plane engines. For more information, see Setting up remote CDC replication in the IBM Software Hub documentation.
Learn more
You can use the Data Replication service to integrate and synchronize data across multiple data stores. For more information, see Replicating data with an IBM Data Replication Access Server connection.
