Connectors for Data Product Hub
Most methods for creating a data product require a connection to a data source. You can add connections to access a broad selection of data sources to create and deliver data products. Connections are used as either a source for accessing the items in a data product, or as a target for storing data extracts. Source connections are used to deliver data products to consumers and require Read or Read-Only permissions.
When a connection is created, the credentials entered by the connection owner are automatically saved for delivering a data product. Read-Only access to the data source is recommended.
-
With the Download method for delivering data products, the consumer receives a URL to download the data product directly from the source.
-
With the Live access with the Flight service delivery method, the consumer receives a code snippet to include in their client or notebook.
-
With the Download data extract method, you need two connections: a source connection where producers extract data, and a target connection where consumers download the extracted data as files. The target connection requires read/write permissions.
Each type of connector supports one or more delivery methods. For more information, see Delivery methods for connectors.
