Scaling options for OpenPages instances
You can scale OpenPages by scaling the application server and the database server.
Review the minimum system requirements before you make changes. See System requirements.
When you provision an OpenPages instance, you choose a size for the instance. The following table shows the default sizes.
For more information, refer to the component scaling PDF. See Downloading the component scaling guidance PDF from the IBM Entitled Registry.
| Size | Description |
|---|---|
| small_mincpureq | Use this setting when you want to use minimal reserved CPU resources without removing the CPU pod setting. |
| Extra small (XS) | One application server and one database server Use for nonproduction workloads only. |
| Small | Two application servers and one database server |
| Medium | Two application servers and one database server |
| Large | Four application servers and one database server |
You can scale the instance by updating the size of the application server and the database server.
- For the OpenPages application server, see Scaling the OpenPages application server pod.
- For the Db2 database server, see Scaling the OpenPages database server pod. (Applies only if you're using the database that is provided with OpenPages.)
Note: Run scaling operations when the cluster is quiet.
