Oracle Data Integrator connection
To access your data in Oracle Data Integrator, create a connection asset for it.
Oracle Data Integrator is a data integration platform that covers data integration requirements such as high-volume batch loads or event-driven integration processes.

Create a connection to Oracle Data Integrator
To create the connection asset, you need the following connection details:
- Repository name: The name of the Oracle Data Integrator repository.
- JDBC driver: The name of the JDBC driver class to be used to access the Oracle Data Integrator repository.
- Connection string: The connection string for the Oracle Data Integrator repository. See the JDBC driver documentation for the syntax.
- Master repository schema: The schema of the master repository that contains information about the topology of IT resources, security, and version management of projects and data models.
- Work repository schema: The schema of the work repository that contains information about data models, projects, and their use.
- Extracted scenarios: A list of scenarios to extract that are separated by commas. To extract all scenarios, leave this field empty.
- Excluded scenarios: A list of scenarios to exclude from extraction that are separated by commas.
- Username and password for accessing the Oracle Data Integrator repository.
Choose the method for creating a connection based on where you are in the platform
- In a project
- Click Assets > New asset > Prepare data > Connect to a data source. See Adding a connection to a project.
- In a catalog
- Click Add to catalog > Connection. See Adding a connection asset to a catalog.
- In the Platform assets catalog
- Click New connection. See Adding platform connections.
Next step: Add assets from the connection
- In a project, create and run a metadata import with the Import ETL job or the Get ETL job lineage goal to add assets to a catalog. See Importing ETL jobs and Getting ETL job lineage.
Where you can use this connection
You can use the Oracle Data Integrator connection in the following workspaces and tools:
Projects
Metadata import (discovery) and metadata import (lineage) (IBM Knowledge Catalog) Advanced metadata import must be enabled. For lineage imports, a MANTA Automated Data Lineage license key must be installed. See Installed features and license requirements and Enabling lineage import.
Catalogs
- Platform assets catalog
- Other catalogs (IBM Knowledge Catalog) for access to the assets added through metadata import
Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliance
The Oracle Data Integrator connection cannot be created in a FIPS environment.
Oracle Data Integrator setup
Restrictions
You can use this connection only for source data. You cannot write to data or export data with this connection.
Supported file types
The Oracle Data Integrator connection supports business intelligence reports.
