Restoring data from a MongoDB backup

You can perform backup and restore procedures for MongoDB instances after configuring Ops Manager to enable backups.

Before you begin

You must have configured and enabled backups for your instance. See Configuring backup with the MongoDB Ops Manager for details.
Access the MongoDB Ops Manager, which you need for the restore procedure. See Administering with MongoDB Ops Manager for details.

Procedure

To restore data from a MongoDB instance:

Navigate to the Continuous Backups page of the MongoDB Ops Manager.
Click on the MongoDB instance to restore.
Click Restore from the Options drop-down list.
Choose the project and cluster to restore to and click Restore.
A progress indicator will appear in the top banner when a restore is in progress.
