Upgrading your cluster (Upgrading from Version 4.8 to Version 5.0)

You can upgrade your cluster to a newer version of Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform that is supported by IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.8 and Version 5.0. Depending on the storage on your cluster, you might need to upgrade your storage.

Who needs to complete this task?

Cluster administrator A cluster administrator must complete the appropriate tasks to update the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform cluster where IBM Cloud Pak for Data is installed.

When do you need to complete this task?

This task is optional. Complete this task only if you want to upgrade your cluster to a newer version of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform that is supported by IBM Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.8 and Version 5.0.

One-time setup The tasks in this section are completed once per cluster where IBM Cloud Pak for Data is installed.
