Setting your notification preferences

Common core services This feature is available only when the Cloud Pak for Data common core services are installed. If you don't see the Notifications icon (Screen capture of the Notification icon.) in the toolbar or the Notifications card on your home page, it's because none of the services that are installed on your environment rely on the common core services.

To set your notification preferences:

  1. Click the Notifications icon (Screen capture of the Notification icon.) in the toolbar.
  2. Click the Settings icon (Screen capture of the Settings icon.).
  3. Specify where you want to receive notifications:
    • If you want to see your notifications in the toolbar, enable Send all notifications to the notification bell.

You can turn on Do not disturb to turn off the notifications that appear briefly in the web client. When you turn on Do not disturb, you can still see that you have unread notifications on the Notifications icon (Notifications icon) in the toolbar.

    • If you want to receive notifications in email, enable Send all notifications to my email.
Restriction: Your administrator must configure the web client to send email notifications for this setting to take effect.

If your administrator configured email notifications, emails are sent to the email that is associated with your profile. You cannot specify where you want to receive emails.

  4. If you are a collaborator in analytics projects, you can specify which projects you want to receive updates about.

For example, if you enable notifications for a project, you will receive notifications when new collaborators are added, when a collaborator adds assets to the project, and when other project-related actions occur.
