Defining a DataStage flow that includes an Excel stage

Before you can read from or write data to Microsoft Excel files, you must create a DataStage® flow that includes the Excel stage, add any required additional stages, and create the necessary links.

Procedure

  1. Add an Excel stage to the DataStage flow.
    You can add an Excel stage in either of the following ways:
    • Drag the Asset browser icon from the palette to the canvas. Next, select the Excel asset that you want to work with from the Asset browser, then click Add.
    • Drag the Excel icon from the palette to the canvas.
  2. Add more stages and connectors to the flow.
  3. Link the stages and connectors together.
  4. Double-click the Excel stage to open the details pane for the stage. Then, configure the stage.
  5. Click Save.
