Plan and prepare to install Data Replication.
IBM® Data Replication for IBM Cloud Pak for Data provides data synchronization capabilities between source and target data stores.
Licensing Data Replication
License entitlement for Data Replication is based on the source/target data stores involved in replication (including containerized, containerized or managed services on public cloud).
Compliance reporting for IBM’s software is provided by:
- IBM Licence Service for Containerized software
- ILMT for Non-Containerized software
Determining license entitlement
Licence entitlement (and compliance reporting) is dependent on the type of replication license.
The two type of licensing are:

- IBM Data Replication Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data
- This entitlement and compliance reporting license is required for all source data stores from which data is replicated.

- IBM Infosphere Data Replication for IBM Cloud Pak for Data
- This entitlement and compliance reporting license is required for all source and target data stores where all data is replicated both ways.
