Specialized installation upgrades (Upgrading from Version 4.5 to Version 4.6)
If you installed the IBM Cloud Pak® for Data operators and the IBM Cloud Pak foundational services operators in different projects, use the following procedure to upgrade from Version 4.5 to Version 4.6.

Before you begin
Ensure that the following tasks are complete before you upgrade the platform and services:
- You updated the client workstation from which you will run the upgrade.
- You confirmed the list of components that you need to upgrade.
- If you are using a private container registry, you mirrored the images to the private container registry.
Ensure that you have the required permissions:
- You must have sufficient privileges to install operators on the cluster.
If you don't have sufficient privileges to install operators, you will need to work with a cluster administrator to complete specific tasks.
- You must be an administrator of the projects where you need to install the operators and upgrade the software.
