Connecting to Db2 Warehouse with a Cloud Pak for Data user ID

You can directly authenticate with the Db2 Warehouse service by using your Cloud Pak for Data user ID and password.

The connection method changed between Cloud Pak for Data 3.0.1 and 3.5:

When you issue a db2 connect, you can supply the Cloud Pak for Data credentials.

Transition from Cloud Pak for Data 3.0.1 to 3.5

It is recommended that in 3.5 you use your Cloud Pak for Data credentials to connect to Db2 Warehouse. But, compatibility is maintained for any previously defined credentials. So if you associated your Db2 Warehouse credentials with your Cloud Pak for Data credentials in 3.0.1, the association is maintained in 3.5.

Cloud Pak for Data 3.0.1

You use the Db2 Warehouse Details property page from the Show Details menu to link your Db2 Warehouse credentials with your Cloud Pak for Data account information. For example, a user ID of "admin" in Cloud Pak for Data is associated with user "user999" in Db2 Warehouse.
