Description

AI Factsheets is the core of the AI Governance solution. In previous releases, AI Factsheets was a part of Watson Knowledge Catalog. Now AI Factsheets is an independent service that can be installed with either Watson™ Knowledge Catalog or Watson Studio. You can choose your installation option based on how you plan to implement governance.

The full AI Governance solution includes these services:
  • AI Factsheets
  • Watson OpenScale
  • OpenPages®
  • Watson Studio
  • Watson Knowledge Catalog
The components you use depend on your AI Governance strategy. Consider these scenarios:
  • Your organization wants to leverage the full services of the IBM cataloging system and requires support for external models developed in any third-party providers, including AWS or Microsoft Azure. For this scenario, install AI Factsheets with Watson Knowledge Catalog.
  • Your organization plans to use a different cataloging system outside IBM. Install AI Factsheets with Watson Studio and use the Platform Assets Catalog provided by default to host the model inventory. You can track external models or install Watson Machine Learning for an IBM solution.

The AI Factsheets service provides a convenient alternative to implementing your own solution for model data and event tracking. The AI Factsheets service is linked to a model inventory that you can use to organize your machine learning models and factsheets that you can use to track details for each model and deployment

With AI Factsheets, you can capture essential model details that are required for AI model governance and compliance and track the following metadata across the model development lifecycle:

  • Purpose and criticality of the model

  • Measured characteristics of the data set, model, or service

  • Lineage of events and actions taken when the model or service is created and deployed

Validators and approvers can use the model data that is securely gathered and stored in the factsheets to get an accurate, up-to-date view of the model lifecycle details.
