Troubleshooting problems with IBM Spectrum Protect Plus

Collect and analyze logs from IBM Spectrum® Protect Plus to troubleshoot problems when backup and restore jobs fail.

Procedure

  1. In IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, go to Jobs and Operations > Job History.
  2. Select the failed job and obtain the job logs by clicking Download .zip.
  3. Extract the .zip file.
  4. Find the application subdirectory.

    This subdirectory contains two application job activities with their own subdirectories, each of which contains a command.log file.

  5. Find and view the command.log files.

    The second line in the command.log file shows which application activity was performed. Ignore the appdiscovery log file and analyze the other command.log file.

    The following example is an appdiscovery entry that shows you what file to ignore, and helps you identify the command.log file to analyze:
