Db2 Data Gate system requirements

The following hardware and software requirements must be met to run the IBM® Db2 for z/OS® Data Gate service on IBM Cloud Pak® for Data.

Version support

The current service version is IBM Db2 for z/OS Data Gate Version 3.0.0.

The current service version is compatible with:

Min. number of virtual CPUs required for installation

Min. amount of memory (in GB of RAM) required for the service to run

Min. amount of storage (in GB) required by the service

Note:

For optimal performance, at least a 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection is recommended between the IBM Z System and the IBM Cloud Pak for Data system.
For the best Db2 Data Gate performance, create a Db2 or Db2 Warehouse service instance with a storage volume type of hostPath.

Supported IBM Cloud Pak for Data platforms

External dependencies

IBM z/OS Version 2.2 (5650-ZOS) or higher.
One of the following database management systems:
- IBM Db2 13 for z/OS
- IBM Db2 12 for z/OS (5650-DB2 or 5770-AF3).

Distributed data facility (DDF) with a secure port, configured for network encryption through AT-TLS. See Configuring network access between Db2 Data Gate and IBM Z for configuration information.

Multiple instances of the Db2 Data Gate service can be installed on the same cluster (on separate IBM Cloud Pak for Data deployments).
