Updating a source definition for Db2 Data Gate

You must connect to a data source to give Db2 Data Gate access to the original data in Db2 for z/OS®. You define a data source when you create (provision) an instance for the first time. This data source can be changed at a later time.

Procedure

  1. Click Cloud Pak for Data main menu icon to open the Cloud Pak for Data main menu.
  2. Select Services > Instances.
You see the Instances page. The Instances tab is in front. Your instances are listed in a table.
  3. Move your mouse pointer to the table row that represents the instance you want to work on. Move the mouse pointer to the very right of that row until a menu icon comes into view (Drop-down menu on instances table on My instances page.).
  4. From that drop-down menu (Drop-down menu on instances table on My instances page.), select Open.
You see the dashboard of your instance.
  5. On the dashboard, next to the label Source, click Edit icon (pencil).
A page with the title Edit source for data-gate-instance-name opens. The Define source tab is in front.
  6. You can now change the values under the headings Source database, Log reader, and TLS certificate.
For a description of the fields and controls, see the steps 22 through 29 in Creating a Db2 Data Gate instance.
  7. Click Continue.
The Select tables tab is in front.
  8. Select schemas and tables for your changed data source.
See the steps 33 and 34 in Creating a Db2 Data Gate instance for a description of the fields and controls.
  9. Click Continue.
The Finish tab is in front, and you see a summary of your settings. For a description of the items on the Finish page, see the steps 35 and 36 in Creating a Db2 Data Gate instance.
  10. Click the Finish button at the bottom of the page when ready.
Important: The configuration process might take several minutes to complete. Do not close the Configure page during that time.
