Setting up services after install or upgrade

After you install IBM® Cloud Pak for Data and services, and set up the Cloud Pak for Data platform, ensure that you complete the appropriate tasks for the services that you installed or upgraded.

  • Service Tasks
    Analytics Engine Powered by Apache Spark You must re-provision Analytics Engine Powered by Apache Spark instances after you upgrade. See Provisioning instances of Analytics Engine Powered by Apache Spark.
    Cognos Analytics Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Cognos Analytics on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Cognos Dashboards No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    Data Privacy Not applicable. The service was not available on Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Data Privacy on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, there are no post-installation steps. The service is ready to use.
    Data Refinery No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    Data Virtualization See the following sections in the Data Virtualization upgrade topic:
    DataStage Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed DataStage on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Db2 See the following sections in the Db2 upgrade topic:
    Db2 Big SQL See the following sections in the Db2 Big SQL upgrade topic:
    Db2 Data Gate No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    Db2 Data Management Console You must re-provision the Db2 Data Management Console instance after you upgrade. See Provisioning the Db2 Data Management Console service.
    Db2 Warehouse See the following sections in the Db2 Warehouse upgrade topic:
    Decision Optimization No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    EDB Postgres Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed EDB Postgres on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Execution Engine for Apache Hadoop See Post-upgrade tasks for the Execution Engine for Apache Hadoop.
    Guardium External S-TAP
    IBM Match 360 with Watson Not applicable. The service was not available on Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed IBM Match 360 with Watson on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Informix Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Informix on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    MongoDB Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed MongoDB on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    OpenPages Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed OpenPages on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Planning Analytics No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    Product Master Not applicable. The service was not available on Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Product Master on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    RStudio Server with R 3.6 No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    SPSS Modeler No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.
    Voice Gateway Not applicable. The service was not available on Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Voice Gateway on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Watson Assistant Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Watson Assistant on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Watson Discovery Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Watson Discovery on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Watson Knowledge Catalog See the following sections of the Watson Knowledge Catalog upgrade topic:
    Watson Knowledge Studio Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Watson Knowledge Studio on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Watson Machine Learning No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.

    However, if you also installed Watson Machine Learning Accelerator and you want to use Deep Learning Experiments, see Setting up Watson Machine Learning Accelerator.
    Watson Machine Learning Accelerator Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Watson Machine Learning Accelerator on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.
    Watson OpenScale No post-upgrade steps. The service is ready to use.

    Watson Speech services Upgrade is not supported from Cloud Pak for Data Version 3.5.

    If you installed Watson Speech services on Cloud Pak for Data Version 4.5, follow the guidance in Setting up services after installation.

    Watson Studio Runtimes The default runtime is ready to use.
