Db2 for z/OS Connector on Cloud Pak for Data

This service has not been released for this release of Cloud Pak for Data.

With the IBM® Db2 for z/OS Connector service, you can bring the power of your data in Db2 for z/OS to the cloud. From Cloud Pak for Data, you can create your own database in Db2 for z/OS, so you can work with your data in a sandbox environment where you own and can change the database objects, without changing the master data.

You can then bring the data into projects for use in analytics. Because the new  database is created in Db2 for z/OS, the data remains protected by the governance  polices of that platform. 

With the IBM® Db2 for z/OS Connector service, and especially if you also use IBM Db2 Devops Experience for z/OS to provision your data, you can:

• Enable efficient self-service deployment of Db2 for z/OS objects on Cloud Pak  for Data.
• Streamline collaboration between different user roles, without sacrificing  security and continuity.
• Accelerate analytics, machine learning, and AI for data in Db2 for z/OS, with autonomy and without moving your data off platform.
• Make every step of the database development and deployment process transparent and auditable.
