Installing Watson Knowledge Studio

Before you can use Watson™ Knowledge Studio, you must prepare the cluster to work with Watson Knowledge Studio and then install the Watson Knowledge Studio service on the cluster.

Before you begin

Decide how you want to install

Deploy multiple Watson Knowledge Studio service instances on a single Red Hat OpenShift cluster, but installed in separate Cloud Pak for Data installations, in different Red Hat® OpenShift® projects (namespaces).
- If you choose this option, simply follow the installation instructions.
Deploy multiple Watson Knowledge Studio service instances within the same Cloud Pak for Data installation, with a separate install for each service instance.

Create an override YAML file (optional)

You can install WKS 1.2.0 without preparing an override YAML file. However, if you want to change the default configuration at installation time, you will need to prepare an override YAML file. See Override values for Watson Knowledge Studio installation for more information.

Permissions

Ensure that you have proper permissions on the cluster and that you have already installed IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
