Upgrading IBM Business Automation Workflow Authoring
If you installed the previous version of IBM Business Automation Workflow Authoring and you want to continue
to use your applications, you can upgrade your applications to the current version.
Before you begin
The following diagram highlights the components that are always installed when you install a Business Automation Workflow Authoring pattern, along with the optional components. If you are upgrading Business Automation Workflow Authoring in your custom resource (CR), then make sure that you update all the relevant versions for all of the capabilities that are in your CR file.

Note: The CR configuration sections for these components use the following names:
- Business Automation Navigator: navigator_configuration
- FileNet® Content Manager: ecm_configuration
- Business Automation Workflow Runtime: baw_configuration
- Business Automation Insights: bai_configuration
- Resource Registry: resource_registry_configuration
- Business Automation Studio: bastudio_configuration
About this task
No specific steps are needed for Business Automation Workflow Authoring beyond the changes that the cp4a-deployment.sh -m upgradeDeployment command already made.
Note: If you want to enable the Audit Logging service when you upgrade from version 26.0.0 to a newer interim
fix, you must disable Process Admin Console Audit Log. To disable
Process Admin Console Audit Log, remove
the
audit_log section from your CR file.What to do next
- Continue to configure the other capabilities that are in your CR file, and make sure that you complete the last step Validating the YAML in your custom resource file before you apply the CR to the operator.
- Apply the modified custom resource file as described in Applying the upgraded custom resource for the upgrade to take place.
- Go to Completing the IBM Business Automation Workflow Authoring upgrade to complete the post-upgrade steps.
