Upgrading CP4BA multi-pattern from 25.0.0

Upgrade your Cloud Pak for Business Automation multi-pattern deployment from 25.0.0 to 26.0.0.

Meeting upgrade requirement

Your current Cloud Pak for Business Automation deployment version must be 25.0.0-IF004 or later to upgrade directly to 26.0.0.

Understanding the upgrade process

The following image shows a high-level process that is involved in upgrading from 25.0.0 to 26.0.0. Step 1 is to prepare your deployment environment for the upgrade. Step 2 is to upgrade the operators. Step 3 is to upgrade your deployment version, and step 4 is to complete some post-upgrade tasks.

Choosing an upgrade method

You can upgrade your Cloud Pak for Business Automation deployment by using any of the following two methods. Upgrading to 26.0.0 by using the Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform console is not supported.

Script-based approach - You can upgrade your deployment by using the cp4a-deployment.sh script. For more information, see Upgrading the CP4BA operators from 25.0.0.
REST API-based approach - You can upgrade your deployment by using REST APIs through the CP4BA Automated Upgrade container. For more information, see Upgrading by using the CP4BA Automated Upgrade container.
