Configuring the BPM event emitter for IBM Business Automation Workflow container deployments

You can configure the event emitter for container deployments of Business Automation Workflow.

About this task

For Business Automation Insights to capture events for processes running on a container deployment of Business Automation Workflow, you must update the custom resource to enable the BPM event emitter.
Note: On container deployments of Business Automation Workflow, the BPM event emitter supports only BPMN events. For information about BPMN event formats, see BPMN event formats.
Important: Only events that are generated after you enable the emitters are sent to IBM Business Automation Insights and displayed in the dashboards. Enabling the emitters does not retroactively send historical process, case, or task data. If you require historical analytics, you must enable the emitters before you start any process or case execution.

Procedure

Enable the BPM emitter by editing parameters in the Business Automation Workflow section of the custom resource.

Ensure that the value of the baw_configuration[x].business_event.enable parameter is set to true. Configure the other business_event parameters as needed. For guidance on the values to use for the baw_configuration[x].business_event.subscription parameters, see Event point key and filter External link opens a new window or tab.

For information about the event emitter parameters and the values you can set, see the BPM event emitter configuration parameters table in the Business Automation Workflow configuration parameters section in IBM Business Automation Workflow and Workstream Services parameters. The table also contains an example of a BPM event emitter configuration.
