Upgrading

You can upgrade your Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) production deployment to 24.0.1. You might not be able to upgrade installations of continuous delivery (CD) releases directly, but you can upgrade to a version that does support a direct upgrade. If you do not want to upgrade twice, you can migrate to a new operator instance that points to your existing persistent stores.

Supported upgrading paths

Restriction: An upgrade of CP4BA starter deployments is not supported.

The following table shows how you can upgrade your installed CP4BA multi-pattern production deployments to the current version.

24.0.1 or 24.0.1-IF00x An upgrade to a higher interim fix 24.0.1-IF00x is supported. It is recommended to upgrade to the latest interim fix of the release. For more information and access to all the interim fix readme files, see the Cloud Pak for Business Automation download document. You can always upgrade to the latest interim fix version 24.0.1-IF00x.
Tip: If you want an interim fix that is not the latest, use the move right arrow Move right arrow in the 24.0.1 release to find all the available interim fixes.
24.0.0 A direct upgrade to any of the 24.0.1 interim fixes is supported. For more information, see Upgrading CP4BA multi-pattern clusters from 24.0.0.
23.0.2-IF006 A direct upgrade to 24.0.1 is not supported. Upgrade directly to 24.0.0-IF00x, and then upgrade to 24.0.1.

23.0.2-IF006 → 24.0.0-IF00x → 24.0.1

23.0.1 A direct upgrade to 24.0.1 is not supported. Incrementally upgrade to 24.0.0-IF00x, and then upgrade to 24.0.1.

23.0.1 → 23.0.2-IF006 → 24.0.0-IF00x → 24.0.1

22.0.2-IF006 A direct upgrade to 24.0.1 is not supported. Upgrade directly to 24.0.0-IF004 or later, and then upgrade to 24.0.1.

22.0.2-IF006 → 24.0.0-IF004 or later → 24.0.1

22.0.1 A direct upgrade to 24.0.1 is not supported. Incrementally upgrade to 24.0.0-IF004 or later, and then upgrade to 24.0.1.

22.0.1 → 22.0.2-IF006 → 24.0.0-IF004 or later → 24.0.1

21.0.3-IF031 or later A direct upgrade to 24.0.1 is not supported. Upgrade directly to 24.0.0-IF004 or later, and then upgrade to 24.0.1.

Releases before 21.0.3 A direct upgrade to 24.0.1 is not supported. Incrementally upgrade to 24.0.0-IF001, and then upgrade to 24.0.1.

Releases before 21.0.3 → 21.0.3-IF031 or later → 24.0.0-IF004 or later → 24.0.1
