Starting Workplace
You can start Workplace in several different
ways.
Deployment options
- When Workplace is
available as a toolkit and wrapped with a workflow automation, it is implemented as a set of Workplace toolkit and UI toolkit views that are combined in a
client-side human service, and can be accessed from any build:
https://{baw-server-host}/Workplace
- When Workplace is
provided as a workflow
automation that runs in the Application Engine, it runs as a desktop in the
Business Automation Navigator, which is the
single public entry point in IBM® Cloud Pak for Business
Automation:
https://{navigator_hostname}/icn/navigator/?desktop=workplace
Workplace is also available with Workflow Process Service. For more information, see IBM Workflow Process Service.
Search capabilities
Depending on the environment, Workplace includes the following search capabilities.
- IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation or a federated Business Automation Workflow
- In a Cloud Pak for Business Automation or a federated Business Automation Workflow environment, the federated data repository exists, and advanced searches in Workplace can be performed on processes and tasks. If case indexing is enabled, advanced searches in Workplace can be performed on cases, too.
