Uninstalling the BPM event emitter

You can temporarily or definitively uninstall the BPM event emitter, typically to prevent cluttering OpenSearch data with the result of tests and other quality assurance actions in the IBM® Business Automation Workflow environment of your IBM Business Automation Insights deployment.

About this task

To uninstall the BPM event emitter, your actions apply to IBM Business Automation Workflow on premise and you work on the IBM Business Automation Workflow side.

Procedure

Disable communication to Business Automation Insights with the following steps:

  1. Find the defconfig.xml file.
The defconfig.xml file holds the DEF configuration and must be present in the IBM Business Automation Workflow Deployment Manager profile at this location:
    <BAW_Install_Root>/profiles/DmgrProfile/config/cells/<CellName>.
  2. Change the name of defconfig.xml to disable the emissions of events altogether. No more events are emitted to the queue.
  3. Do a full resynchronization in WebSphere Application Server including the dmgr and node levels. Then restart IBM Business Automation Workflow.
Verify that the defconfig.xml file does not exist anywhere on the system. If defconfig.xml still exists, repeat the resynchronization and restart.
