Completing the IBM Automation Document Processing upgrade

After the operator upgrades your document processing components, you need to do extra configuration to complete the upgrade process.

Procedure

To complete the upgrade for Document Processing

  1. For 22.0.2 only: Upgrade your applications that are based on previous versions of the Batch Document Processing Template and Document Processing Template. For more information, see Upgrading document processing applications.
Note: Upgraded applications are not supported for 21.0.3. Create a new application once the upgrade is complete.
  2. For 22.0.2 only: Update your existing projects.
If you want to work with a document processing project that you created in the previous version, you must open the project in the updated document processing designer, retrain your classification model, reanalyze all training files individually and verify the annotations, and make the training files ready for training before you retrain the extraction model. After these steps, you can create a new version of the project.
Note: Upgraded projects are not supported for 21.0.3. Create a new project once the upgrade is complete.
  3. For 22.0.2 only: Redeploy projects that were deployed before the upgrade.
For Project Admins-<projectName> to be able to deploy projects, a member of the Doc Processing Manager or Doc Processing Analyst team must first redeploy that project.

The Doc Processing Project Admins team must be added as a team member of the BTS Creators team to give the Project Admins-<project> team the ability to deploy.

  4. Create a new project in the upgraded version.
Note: Upgraded projects are not supported for 21.0.3. For more information, see the Replacing 21.0.3 projects and project databases when upgrading to 24.0.0 with IBM Automation Document Processing technote.
  5. Create a new application once the upgrade is complete.
Note: Upgraded applications are not supported for 21.0.3.
  6. Optional: If the shared_configuration.sc_egress_configuration.sc_restricted_internet_access parameter value is already set to false in your custom resource and if you want to enable restricted internet access after you complete the upgrade to 24.0.0, then you can set the shared_configuration.sc_egress_configuration.sc_restricted_internet_access parameter value to true. If you set the value to true, then you need to create a custom network policy. For more information, see Configuring cluster security.
