How to use views to store or view documents

In client applications, you can store or view documents from an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) server by using functions that work with your search results.
To store a document, use the Document Explorer view or the ECM Document List view (as described in the topics Document Explorer and ECM Document List) in the user interface of your client application. From these views, you can retrieve a set of documents from an ECM server, display a selected document, and store documents. The way that you configure the document view determines how the view behaves in your client application.
To view a document, you can configure your document view in one of the following ways:
  • Configure the document view that you are using with the File Viewer view. (You must also configure the File Viewer view.)
  • Set a configuration option for the document view to display the document in a new window.
