Planning for a Demo installation

To install capabilities with the Cloud Pak operator, an OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) administrator must identify what is needed on the cluster by the respective capabilities. They must then work with the users who want to run an installation.

A demo installation is for demonstrations and evaluation purposes. Demonstrations might be projects or programs that are designed to showcase the use of the Cloud Pak in a particular business sector. An evaluation can be any activity that intends to assess one or more components.

The "demo" deployment type is a one-off deployment. These deployments are not meant to be maintained or upgraded. Support is not provided to upgrade a demo deployment to an enterprise deployment. Customization of the generated custom resource file is not supported, so any updates you want to make must be done by running the deployment script again or modifying the instance in the OCP Operator Hub.

Restriction: For 21.0.1 OpenShift Container Platform 4.6 is the only version that is supported for a demo deployment. The version on ROKS must also be 4.6.
