Preparing Task Manager datasource connections

If you plan to use Task Manager in your environment, you must configure additional datasource connections.

Before you begin

Task Manager works with Business Automation Navigator for task scheduling and other functions. These functions require a database connection. The typical configuration for Task Manager shares the configuration database that is used by Business Automation Navigator.

For that reason, make sure that you prepare the database for your Business Automation Navigator deployment before you configure these connections. See Preparing the database for details.

Remember: Task Manager is not included in SSO configurations for Business Automation Navigator. Even if you configure Business Automation Navigator with SSO, you will still need to authenticate separately for access to Task Manager.

About this task

You configure the datasource connections by adding datasource XML files to the configDropins/overrides directory that you created for your Task Manager environment in Creating volumes and folders for deployment on Kubernetes.

Procedure

  1. Create an XML file called ECMLibertyDefaultDS.xml.
  2. Update the settings in ECMLibertyDefaultDS.xml to match your environment.
  3. Create an XML file called ECMTaskManagerDS.xml.
  4. Update the settings in ECMTaskManagerDS.xml to match your environment.
  5. Copy your updated ECMLibertyDefaultDS.xml and ECMTaskManagerDS.xml files to the configDropins/overrides directory in your Task Manager volume.
