Preparing an OCP or ROKS cluster

To install the Cloud Pak capabilities with the Cloud Pak operator, a cluster administrator must prepare the cluster, whether that is OCP or ROKS.

Preparing storage for the Cloud Pak operator
All instances of an operator need a place to store its log files whether it is on a private cloud or on IBM Cloud® Public.
Getting access to container images
You must get access to the Cloud Pak container images before you edit the custom resource file.
Setting up the cluster by running a script
To install the Cloud Pak capabilities with the Cloud Pak operator, a cluster administrator user can run a script to set up the cluster. The administrator must also provide information that they get from the script to a non-administrator user so they can run the deployment script.
Setting up the cluster manually
If you do not want to, or you cannot, use the provided scripts then you can still install the Cloud Pak capabilities. A cluster administrator must install the needed Common Services and manually install the Cloud Pak operator.
