Failback to production site
This section covers the scenario where the disaster that is experienced at the production
site is over, and you want to re designate the production site as the active site and set the DR
site back to the passive state that it was originally set to.
Before you begin
- The production site must be recovered from the disaster. This means:
- The SAN is verified online.
- FC switch ports are connected.
- The WAN and LAN are online.
- The Cloud Pak for Data System is powered on.
- The
ap
state is ready. - The
ap
issues show no blockers that prevent returning to production on the production system.
- Make sure that no backups are actively being created at the DR site.
- Replication between prod and DR must be paused or stopped and no backups must be taken at the DR site after that point.
Note: If you plan to restore at the prod site from a backup taken from the DR site, you must
replicate it to the prod site before failback using your own replication software or
hardware.
