Data acquisition

Each probe uses a different method to acquire data. Which method the probe uses depends on the target system from which it receives data.

The TL1 Probe acquires data by connecting and logging in to an NE that generates TL1 messages and logging in. It receives the TL1 messages that the NE generates and passes the autonomous messages, responses, and acknowledgements to Netcool/OMNIbus.

The probe sends messages to NEs for heartbeating and resynchronizing connections. This enables the probe to maintain persistent connections with the NEs and to minimize or eliminate lost alarms.
