Installing the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps MustGather tool (IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps on Red Hat OpenShift)

You must download and install the MustGather tool before you can run any commands for the tool. You must download the installation package for the MustGather tool from IBM Support. You can download the package to any machine that has valid access to the target cluster for running oc commands.

Important: This MustGather tool gathers data for IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps deployments. For gathering data for Infrastructure Automation, see Infrastructure Automation data collection for IBM Support cases.

Procedure

Complete either of the following steps to download the tool:

Download the (waiops-mustgather-<version>.tar.gz) package at the end of the following IBM Support page:

Collecting Data: MustGather for IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps
Open a command-line terminal and use the following command to download the package:
```
wget https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/system/files/inline-files/waiops-mustgather-<version>.tar.gz
```
Where <version> is the version of the MustGather tool. Refer to the preceding IBM Support page to determine the latest available version. For v.1.16.6, the command is:
```
wget https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/system/files/inline-files/waiops-mustgather-v1.16.6.tar.gz
```

Important:

Unpack the downloaded waiops-mustgather-<version>.tar.gz package in its own directory. Ensure that the directory is not shared with any other files or directories.
Keep the MustGather tool up to date. By default the tool can run a new-version-check automatically. To disable this check, include the -M option when you run the MustGather tool to gather data. If you want to directly check for, and download, the latest version run the following command
```
waiops-mustgather.sh -UD
```
