Seasonality policy details

The seasonality details page provides a calendar view of all of the historical alerts that contributed to the selected seasonal policy. One or more seasonal time windows are listed under the filter icon. Select a seasonal time window to filter the view to show just historical alerts that contributed to that time window.

Procedure

  1. Click the navigation icon at the upper-left corner of the screen to go to the main navigation menu.

  2. In the main navigation menu, click Operate > Automations.

  3. Filter Filter the table to display Temporal and/or Seasonal policies, or search Search for a policy by entering a search term in the field provided.

  4. Locate the policy of interest and do one of the following to launch out to the policy details page:

    • Click the options menu (three vertical dots) at the end of the policy's table row and then click View justification.
    • Click anywhere in the policy's table row and then click Justification in the side panel displayed.

The seasonality policy details page contains the following sections:

  • Header:

    • Policy name

    • Toggle button to change the policy state to enabled Toggle on button or disabled Toggle off button. Disabled policies do not take any action against incoming alerts.

      Note: Users must have the Edit operational policies permission to enable or disable policies from the seasonality policy details page. The toggle button for policy state will be disabled without this permission. For more information, see Roles and permissions.

  • Toolbar:

    • Search: searches alert data in all event group instances that are shown on this page.

    • Filter: filters the alerts that are shown by severity level:

      • Critical Critical

      • Major Major

      • Minor Minor

      • Warning Warning

      • Information Informational

      • Indeterminate Indeterminate

  • Seasonal time windows:

    One or more seasonal time windows are listed together with a number indicating how many historical alerts occurred within this time window during the historical period analyzed. The color of the square is the color code for the respective seasonal time window. Select a seasonal time window to filter the Calendar and the Historical alert table to show just historical alerts that contributed to that time window.

  • Calendar:

    A calendar of the historical period analyzed (the last three months or more) showing days on which the historical alerts of interest occurred, and colored with the color code for the respective time window. If you hover over any indicated day in the calendar, a tooltip displays a breakdown of the seasonal alerts for that day.

  • Historical event table:

    Table listing the historical alerts during the historical period analyzed.
