Run as root

The Probe for HP Operations Manager was developed using the HP API. The API functions must be issued by the user root. OVO allows users with a user ID of zero (uid 0), typically root, to access the OVO Interface APIs and to define actions for messages that are sent to the management server. Therefore, you can only run the probe as root.
