Open NerveCenter
The Open NerveCenter is a client/server application. The client program provides the NerveCenter user interface. The server program performs all the NerveCenter monitoring and processing. The server program also saves to the NerveCenter database all the behavior model components you modify or create as you use NerveCenter to manage your network.
Before you can use the NerveCenter client, the NerveCenter server must be running. The server program is configured to start automatically when the server’s host computer boots or is started by an administrator. The NerveCenter client program runs in either administrator or operator mode, depending on your user ID or group. As an administrator, you can customize NerveCenter and save all your changes to the database. When you use NerveCenter with operator privileges, you can monitor devices and reset NerveCenter alarms, but you cannot modify the database. The Probe for Open NerveCenter listens for messages from NerveCenter from which it generates alerts and forwards them to the ObjectServer.
