Setting user preferences for the Alert Viewer

You can configure the appearance and behavior of the Alert Viewer via the User preferences User preferences.

Procedure

  1. Click the navigation icon at the upper-left corner of the screen to go to the main navigation menu.

  2. In the main navigation menu, click Operate > Alerts.

  3. On the upper right corner of the page, click Options > User preferences.

The following preferences can be applied to the Alert Viewer:

  • Style

    • Row size

      Select from the following table row sizes:

      • Very small
      • Small
      • Medium
      • Large

    • Row coloring

      Change how alert severity is depicted in the table by applying a different color background for each priority level.

  • Behavior

    • Alert details launch type

      Selecting an alert in the table opens the alert details for that alert. These can be displayed in a Side panel or in a separate Pop-up window.

    • Alert details should open on:

      • Double-click
      • Single-click

    • Always select row on single click

      Turn on or off.

    • Table auto-refresh

      Enable auto-refresh to have the alert list automatically updated at predescribed intervals.

    • Table auto-refresh interval (s)

      Auto-refresh interval in seconds.

    • Select child alerts on parent alert right-click

      Turn on or off.

  • Display

    • Default filter

      Set a default filter for the alert list from the predefined or customized alert filters available in the drop-down list. For more information, see Searching and filtering alerts.

    • Default view

      Set a default view for the alert list from the predefined or customized views available in the drop-down list. For more information, see Creating views.

    • Enable the checkbox column for the alert list

      Show or hide the checkbox column in the alert list. This preference can be set in both the stand-alone alert list and the Incident alert list. By default, this is turned off.

    • Alert activity entries sorting

      • Newest at the top
      • Newest at the bottom

  • Notifications

    • Warning prompts

      When warning prompts are disabled, warnings will not appear in certain situations, including the following:

      • User has set a max limit of alerts to be fetched
      • Retrieving filtered alerts is taking a while

  1. Click Save to apply your changes to the Alert Viewer.
