Working with IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service Template
As a prerequisite to deploying an IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service cluster, verify whether the resource group exists in IBM Cloud and the user ID that is used in IBM Cloud Provider cloud connection has access to this resource group.
As a first step to deploy IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service with Managed services, create a connection to the IBM Cloud Provider. This connection makes use of your IBM Cloud account's API key to communicate between Managed services and IBM Cloud.
After you create the connection, create a custom service by using the Managed Kubernetes Service within IBM Cloud template to deploy an IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service cluster. Deploying IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service template from Managed services describes how to create a custom service from the template. If you choose to add the optional
VPN connection, refer to strongSwan Helm Chart on IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.
After the cluster is created, you can use Deploying helm-tiller template to add Helm and tiller to the cluster.
You can modify the number of nodes in the default pool to scale up and down. For more information, see Scaling nodes on IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service.
