Suppress seasonal alerts

Generate a new suppression policy to suppress the in-season alerts identified by an analytics-created seaonal policy. After the suppression policy is created, you can edit it to add conditions if needed.

Procedure

  1. Click the navigation icon at the upper-left corner of the screen to go to the main navigation menu.
  2. In the main navigation menu, click Operate > Automations. The Policies table is displayed.
  3. Click the Filter icon Filter to open the filter side panel.
  4. Select the Seasonal tag and click Apply.
  5. In the Policies table, click anywhere in the row of the analytics-created seaonal policy that you want to generate a suppression policy for.
  6. In the side panel displayed, click the plus icon "+" beside Generate suppression policy.
  7. Enter a name for your policy that is 1-120 characters. Leading and trailing blank spaces will be removed from the policy name if provided.
  8. Click Generate policy.

The new suppression policy is created and available in the Policies table. You can edit the policy to add conditions if required.

To see how many suppression policies or other policies reference a seasonal policy ID, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Policies table, select the seasonal policy of interest.
  2. If one or more related policies are found, click the search icon Search for All related policies.

The list displayed is generated by searching all policy names and conditions for the policy ID of the selected seasonal policy. You can click Clear filters and show policies in table to launch out to the related policies in the Policies table.

Suppress seasonal alerts using the policy templates

You can also create your own suppression policy for seasonal alerts by using the policy template and condition builder.

  1. Click the navigation icon at the upper-left corner of the screen to go to the main navigation menu.

  2. In the main navigation menu, click Operate > Automations.

  3. Click Create policy.

  4. Click the Suppress alerts tile.

  5. Enter a Policy name and optionally a Description.

  6. Suppress seasonal alerts by making the following selections in a condition set:

    1. Click Add condition and select Alert insight.
    2. Set the Insight type to Seasonal.
    3. From the Property drop-down list, select insight.details.policyId.
    4. Set the Operator to equal to.
    5. Set Matches to only.
    6. Set the Value to the seasonal policy ID.
