Elements

The probe breaks event data down into tokens and parses them into elements. Elements are used to assign values to ObjectServer fields; the field values contain the event details in a form that the ObjectServer understands.

The following table describes the elements that the Probe for Nortel EIF generates. Not all the elements described are generated for each event; the elements that the probe generates depends upon the event type.

`$AlarmGroup`	This element contains the alarm group.
`$AlarmSubGroup`	This element contains the alarm sub group.
`$AlarmType`	This element specifies the type, number, and state (if applicable).
`$DateTime`	This element contains the date and time of the alarm.
`$Serial`	This element contains the serial of the alarm.
`$Severity`	This element contains the severity of the alarm.
`$sfn`	This element contains the internal EIF code.
`$SwitchId`	This element contains the switch ID.
`$SwitchType`	This element contains the type of switch.
