Viewing service instance details

After you order a service, you can view its details from the Deployed Instance page.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the deployed instances page, by using one of these methods:

    • In the navigation bar, click Deployed instances > Services tab.

    • Alternatively, any operational user can access the instances page through the service library. From the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps console, click Automate Infrastructure > Library. The Instances tab shows the deployed instances.

In the deployed instances page, you can see a list of all deployed instances. Each instance record has name, status, service offering, user ordered, and the time of order.

  2. Search for your deployed instance by using any of the following search filters:

    • Enter your instance name in Search instances.

    • Click the show filter menu icon to filter records based on the status of a record. The different statuses of a service instance are Active, In progress, Error, and Terminated.

Note: The Wait status is available whenever you use long running Business Process Manager template in your service.

    • You can click Name and Ordered on column headers to sort records. The Name also includes the namespace details. In addition, you have Service Offering and Status column headers.

    • You can select a namespace from the All namespaces drop-down list. The list of deployed services in the page changes based on the selected namespace. You can also select "All namespaces" to see all deployed services for which you have access.

    • You can use the pagination drop-down to select the number of records you want to display in a page at a time. Use the > or < to go through the next or previous set of records.

  3. Click the service instance for which you want to see the details. Alternatively, you can click the View details in the overflow menu.

The name of the order and status of the order is displayed. From the overflow menu, you can Rename an order name or Reorder the service.

    • The Overview tab of the instance is displayed by default, and it has the following sections:

      • Service offering section from where you can Redeploy instance.
      • Instance Details section that has information about the owner, order time, created time, and plan name.
      • Action section that has the statuses of all deployments and bind/custom operations. Click View log to view the log of an operation.
      • Activity Instances section that has a list of all template instances that are used by the service. When you create a service, you provide an instance name for the template in the Composition tab. The name of the instance is prefixed by the order name followed by the instance position. For example, if the order name is R001 and it is the first instance of the template, then the name of the record in this section is R001_00_<template instance name>.
      • Custom Action Instances section that has all the created bind as well as custom instances along with their status. You can unbind a Bind action, from the overflow menu. For more information, see Creating bind instances for service instances. Every action has input or output parameters.
      • Output parameters tab lists all the output parameters of a deployed service.
      • Service parameters tab lists all the deployment parameters of the service.
    • Tags tab displays all tags that were created while defining the service.

    • In the Log file tab, you can view the service deployment log file and the template deployment log file. Use the Copy logs if you want to copy the logs in to a text file.

Note: If the Log exceeds the maximum size of 200 KB, then only the last 200 KB of the Log is displayed.
