Adding a service version

You can create multiple versions of a single service, providing flexibility when managing a service and the supporting end user needs.

About the task

There are three ways by which you can add a service version:

  • Click Add version in the overflow menu of a service record in the Library > Services pane.
  • In the Overview pane of a service, select Add version from the overflow menu.
  • Version details section on Overview tab when you create/edit service.

Procedure

  1. In the navigation bar, click Library > Services. The Manage service library is displayed.
  2. In the overflow menu of the service you want to add version, click Add version.
  3. Enter the Version name.
  4. Select the version from the drop-down list of Based on version.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Modify the details of the service based on your requirement. For more information to update the tabs, see Editing a service.
  7. Click Save.
