Configuring the Installation Manager repository
WebSphere Application Server family of offerings uses an IBM Installation Manager repository to contain WebSphere Application Server offerings, fix packs, and interim fixes. You can download fix packs and interim fixes from IBM Fix Central and add them to the Advanced Content Runtime software repository composite repository.
Before you begin
The Advanced Content Runtime software repository composite repository contains the WebSphere base product offering that will allow you to perform a full installation of the fix pack. See Download WebSphere Application Server from Passport Advantage for instructions.
Procedure
-
Download the appropriate fix pack from IBM Fix Central. See Recommended updates for WebSphere Application Server
Log in to the Content Runtime virtual machine.
-
Transfer the compressed IBM Installation Manager packages to the /opt/ibm/docker/software-repo/var/swRepo/private/IMRepo directory.
-
Extract the compressed repository files to a directory underneath /opt/ibm/docker/software-repo/var/swRepo/private/IMRepo. Each product offering should be extracted into their own directory.
-
Update the composite repository configuration file
/opt/ibm/docker/software-repo/var/swRepo/private/IMRepo/repository.config
