Notice: This License Guide is intended to provide only supplementary information to assist you in deploying the Programs you have licensed from IBM within your purchased entitlement. Your license agreement (such as the IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) or equivalent and its transaction documents, including the License Information for IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps 4.8.0), is the sole and complete agreement between you and IBM regarding use of the Program.

What's included in your purchase of IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps 4.8.0

Your purchase of IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps includes the following entitlements:

Evaluation Period

The evaluation period starts upon agreement and lasts for 60 days.

Bundled Programs

As a licensee, you are authorized to install and use the followinig Bundled Programs:

  • IBM Netcool Operations Insight Operations Management
  • IBM Netcool Operations Insight Connection
  • IBM Operations Analytics Predictive Insights
  • IBM Robotic Process Automation Platform
  • IBM Process Mining
  • Monitoring

Supporting Programs

As a licensee, you are authorized to install and use the following supporting programs:

  • IBM Netcool Operations Insight Agile Service Manager
  • IBM Cloud Pak Foundational Services
  • IBM Fusion
  • IBM Cognos Analytics User Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data
  • IBM Cognos Analytics Administrator Cartridge for IBM Cloud Pak for Data

Non-Production

As a licensee, the following components are limited for internal development and test environments for internal non-production activities ("Non-Production"):

  • Story prioritization from persistence analysis and golden signals extraction
  • Deploy to single ROSA cluster configured across multiple AWS Zones
  • Multi-zone high availability and disaster recovery (HADR)
  • IBM Cognos Analytics Integration for AIOps Custom Dashboards and Reporting

Prohibited Components

As a licensee, you are not authorized to use any of the following components or functions of the Program:

  • Application Discovery component (of IBM Netcool Operations Insight Agile Service Manager)
  • Network Discovery component (of IBM Netcool Operations Insight Agile Service Manager)
  • Attended Bot Agent add-on (of IBM Robotic Process Automation)
  • ABBYY FineReader OCR Provider (of IBM Robotic Process Automation)
  • Business Process Model and Notation Export/Import Capability (of IBM Process Mining)
  • Decision Model and Notation Export/Import Capability (of IBM Process Mining)

Red Hat Products

As a licensee, your purchase of IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps 4.8.0 includes restricted entitlements for the following Red Hat products in the quantities and/or ratios set out in your license agreement:

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform

Entitlement details

Various metrics and conversion ratios apply to your entitlement of IBM Cloud Pak® for AIOps 4.8.0. These metrics and conversion ratios include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Managed Client Device
  • Managed Device
  • Process
  • Resource Unit
  • Virtual Processor Core
  • Virtual Server

The following table lists some of the entitlements per resource unit (perpetual) for IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps:

License reporting

As part of using IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps, tracking your license usage is required. Although IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps provides license options not tracked directly by the product, to track usage, you must install and deploy the IBM Cloud Pak foundational services License Service on all clusters where IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps is installed.

IBM Cloud Pak foundational services License Service

This background License Service collects and stores the license usage information for tracking license consumption and for audit purposes. You can retrieve this data upon request for monitoring and compliance. You can also retrieve an audit snapshot of the data that is audit evidence.

Note: For IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps, the license service collects usage data for only IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps. Although IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps provides license options not tracked directly by the product, to track usage, you must deploy the IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps License Service on all clusters where IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps is installed.
